Leather is Grade A Old World Harness Leather from the oldest still operating tannery in the USA - Hermann Oak Tannery in St. Louis, MO.
This is a vegetable tanned leather that has also been hot stuffed with tallows/oils, creating a strong but bendable leather. These oils will increase its durability during its life as well as give it the ability to form comfortably to the person wearing it. Because of these oils the leather will patina over time (a deep darkening) as exposed to sunlight. Known as being "the leather your grandfather used."
